MATTERS ARISING
DUNSCAR.
A long discussion took place about the game played at Dunscar.
The weather became horrendous during the game and several players walked off the course without completing the course, the main points of the discussion was,
SHOULD THE RESULT STAND OR SHOULD THE MATCH BE RETROSPECTIVELY CANCELLED, Several points were raised for each of the proposals but after due discussion and analysis of what happened it was decided that, THE RESULT WOULD STAND.
The question was then raised about whether matches are abandoned or go ahead irrespective of conditions and if a match is abandoned who makes the decision to end the match.
It was decided by vote that the CAPTAIN, VICE CAPTAIN and ONE COMMITTEE MEMBER would make the decision whether a match is abandoned or goes ahead if adverse weather conditions set in after the match has started.
MALKINS BANK
Following the decision by Malkins Bank to put the tee time back to 11-30am Paul has contacted the club to ask if an 11-00 tee time is possible, this would mean that our first tee would follow the members competition instead of following another society, details of the result of these discussions will be given out at the next meeting.

A O B.
A discussion took place about how the election of society officials is conducted, it was suggested that every member should have a vote on whom is elected to office irrespective of whether that member attends the AGM or not, sometimes it is NOT possible for certain members to attend the meeting.
The suggestion put forward was,
Nominations of members for the various positions within the society can be put forward in writing by members to the Secretary at the August meeting. This would give the secretary the time to forward the nominations to every member of the society prior to the September meeting which in turn would give every member the opportunity to vote at the AGM.
The absent members vote would have to be submitted at least one week prior to the AGM by either letter or email and these would them be counted during the election process in the meeting.
BEFORE YOU NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR A POSITION IN THE SOCIETY, MAKE SURE THAT THE PERSON YOU ARE NOMINATING WANTS THE POSITION YOU ARE NOMINATING THEM FOR. THE POSITION OF CAPTAIN IS AUTOMATIC THROUGH SUCCESSION.
SOCIETY GOLFING DAYS
The secretary MUST be notified at least seven { 7 } days in advance of ALL games if you are NOT playing in a particular game, if you do not notify the secretary of your absence he will assume YOU ARE PLAYING, AND, if you DON`T turn up for the game this could result in the society paying for a tee that isn`t used.
